Familia Telerín: saying good night since 1964
Familia Telerín is one of the best-loved children's animation brands in Spain and Latin America. Its characters, created by brothers Santiago and José Luis Moro, premiered in 1964 on Televisión Española with the song "Vamos a la cama" ("Off to Bed"). Watch the original TVE video.
"Vamos a la cama": the song that closed the day
For generations, the Familia Telerín song has signaled bedtime in many homes. Today it is still a useful tool for families: a simple, repeated cue that helps children understand that the day is over.
In Mexico, “Vamos a la cama” stayed on air on Televisa until the 1990s. Watch a 1998 broadcast on Canal 5.
We explain why it works in our guide Sleep routines in early childhood.
From classic animation to a 3D series
In 2018 the characters came back with Cleo & Cuquin, a 3D animated series produced by Ánima Kitchent for children ages 2 to 6. Cleo, Cuquin and their siblings solve everyday problems by playing at different jobs.
The family also grew with Cuquin, a content line for the youngest children, ages 1 to 3, with songs and first habits.
